The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime released its World Drug Report 2025 on June 26. There were launch events in Vienna, Austria and New York City. On this week’s Century we listen to parts of that New York launch event, including presentations by Angela Me, Chief of the Research and Trend Analysis Branch at UNODC; Mauricio Reza Bautista, Delegate for Human Rights and Crime Prevention at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the UN; Paula Ximena Sanmiguel Patiño, First Secretary of Foreign Affairs at Colombia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a Counselor at Colombia’s Permanent Mission of Colombia to the UN; Ninan Varughese, Senior Advisor with UNAIDS in New York; and Joana Canedo, Executive Team Member at the European Network of People who Use Drugs.
