Pastures of Plenty is a year-round program, but winter mornings may be the best time to huddle around your radio and listen to folk music. In case that’s true, I’m going to start this show with a pair of radio songs - My Ol’ Radio from Malcolm Holcombe and Morning Man from Darrell Scott. Also in that first set: the late Beaverton-raised folk singer Todd Snider singing That Was Me from an album of his songs from 1994-1998. Later in the show, there’s music with more connections to the Portland area. And there’s a set of blues music, some of it from albums by Guy Davis (The Legend of Sugarbelly) and Eric Bibb (Lead Belly’s Gold). Portlander Mary Flower anchors the set with Main Street Blues.
In my opinion, it’s hard to go wrong listening to K-Boo’s early morning folk strip Monday through Friday - especially in the winter. But, really, what do I know? Good question. Tune in to KBOO 90.7 fm from 5:30 till 7 am Wednesday January 14th and find out. Thanks. Will
